VAHA is the largest affordable housing developer in Vancouver.
Our mission is to create and implement innovative solutions for below-market housing. VAHA's vision is for all Vancouver residents to have access to affordable, safe, and quality homes.
Building on City-owned land, VAHA liaises with investment, development, and community partners to create below-market housing options. Using innovative building techniques and unique partnerships, we are focused on building high quality rental housing for individuals and families on low to moderate incomes across Vancouver.
Our mandate is to deliver 2,500 new affordable homes by 2021. Currently, VAHA has 2,288 units under development, which excludes 606 modular units scheduled to complete in 2018.
VAHA aims to:
• Be a competent, accountable, and trusted agency that
delivers quality affordable housing in the fastest and most economical way possible;
• Deliver 2,500 or more housing units by 2021;
• Form trusted relationships with a variety of housing partners
to create affordable housing in Vancouver; and
• Develop housing types that are most in need, but are not
delivered by the private market.
